
Let’s be honest—summer with kids at home is a lot.
No school, longer days, endless snack requests… and somehow we’re supposed to still care for ourselves too and work?????
Here’s the good news: You can feel good this summer without following a strict plan or starting over every Monday. These 3 wellness tips are saving me right now—and they’re totally doable even with kids around 24/7.
1. Use ChatGPT to Help You Create a Realistic Summer Rhythm
Not a rigid schedule. A flexible rhythm.

Try prompts like:
- “Create a realistic summer schedule for a mom with 2 kids who still wants to fit in time for exercise, work and fun”
- “Give me ideas for summer routines with space for fun and healthy habits”
I did this, and it helped me see my day in blocks—not minutes. I now have space for movement, meals, and yes, even rest.

2. Don’t Throw in the Towel on your Healthy Habits—Toss the All-or-Nothing Mindset Instead

(Greek yogurt w/ protein powder, flax & berries)
Summer doesn’t have to mean ditching your health goals.
But it does mean getting honest about what’s realistic. I’m focusing on progress over perfection, and sticking to just one or two anchor habit per day or week—like a 20-minute walk or a high protein breakfast every day.
Less pressure = more consistency.
3. Wake Up Before the Chaos (Even Just 10 Minutes)

This one is a game changer.
Monday-Friday, before the “Mom, I’m hungry!” requests start flying, I give myself alone time before the kids wake up. Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I just sip coffee in peace. Either way, starting the day with me sets the tone for everything else. I’m a much more patient mother and wife.
